We are looking for a Building Envelope Sales Manager to be responsible for managing the Building Envelope Specialist (BES) team to meet sales, margin, and inventory management goals. This position will direct, administer, and coordinate all BES sales functions to ensure maximum sales volume and profitability. Our ideal candidate has a strong sales background in the building material industry and excellent leadership, communication, and customer-facing skills.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Manage staffing; responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, performance reviews, rewarding and disciplining employees (including termination), development of employees and addressing complaints, and resolving personnel issues in accordance with company policies and applicable federal and state laws.
  • Manage and lead day-to-day sales team performance and accountability. This should include spending 70% of the time in the field coaching specialists, driving programs, and developing customer relationships.
  • Maintain monthly cadence of ride-alongs and one-on-ones with all Building Envelope Specialists. Plan and host biweekly sales team calls to disseminate information, share key learnings, and drive group goals.
  • Develop and implement sales plans, marketing strategies, and promotions to meet assigned targets. Assigned targets must be identified in the annual business plan (3-5 work objectives)
  • Develop customer segment strategy and rank customers A-D.
  • Lead and promote a culture of safety within the team that includes safety while visiting the branch and in the field (job sites, customer locations, etc.). Ensure adherence to the policies and procedures of the OrePac safety program.
  • Conduct quarterly customer reviews with A and B customers.
  • Lead conversion efforts for regional and national customers.
  • Establish gross margin levels and manage profitability with the Director of Sales.
  • Provide the BES team with continuous training, on-going development opportunities, direction, counsel and guidance. This includes conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Maintain/build key vendor relationships with local personnel.
  • Responsible for budget planning, forecasting, and accountability in concert with branch management.
  • Drive sales opportunities of Non-Tyvek building envelope materials both directly and indirectly.


WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field and four years of relevant sales and industry experience; or any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrated the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor staff. Ability to encourage and model effective work habits and work effectively with diverse groups, individually, and in a team environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) or aptitude to learn and understand such technologies.
  • Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Must be a pro-active, self-motivated, and action-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve the branch sales and growth goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Strong reading and interpretation skills.
  • Solid math skills, including the ability to perform basic algebra.
  • Ability to travel to the branches and the local market areas up to 70% of the time.
  • Aptitude to develop knowledge of the industry within a given market.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication and political acumen skills. Skill in negotiating (including listening and persuasion skills) to reach compromise among people with different points of view and close sales.
